END OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION 2016

END OF YEAR CELEBRATION

It's a tradition in our afterschool programs to have a big end-of-the-year celebration with our students and families in honor of all the hard work and fun we had throughout the school year! It's been a true honor to be a part of a small group of people that make such a huge and profound impact on our communities. Below enjoy an image gallery with pictures from all of our school sites and their individual celebrations held at each of the following school sites:

Because this is not only the end of the year but the end of program here at Allendale for Higher Ground, we wanted to really celebrate all of the children and families!!!  We started the event with a movie and speaking presentation from a nationally ranked and renowned skateboarder that was born and raised in the Allendale community.  We then started the regular program where students shared what they learned in the different classes throughout the school year.  The dance class presented their routine.  The karate students did a presentation and received medals.  The top students received gi’s for their participation and their belt ceremony. After the celebration, we had a potluck and Bar-B-Q for all of the families.  We had over 40 families come and celebrate with us!!!! We also had jumpers, water slides and carnivals games for not only the program participants but their siblings.  It was a great celebration ending a decade of partnership!

On June 6th, we hosted our annual End of the Year Party. We had a Video Game truck, two jumpers, a DJ, carnival games, and a BBQ. It was a great way to end the school year on a positive note and to reward our students for a job well done. Our kinders and 5th graders are having their promotions this week as well so we did some special games and activities to show them just how proud we are. The students and staff had a blast running around playing games and just enjoying the sun. the game truck was on time with all of their supplies and had great attitudes when working with the students. The Jumper company was one of the student’s parent that came through for us at the last minute and they were a big help as well. The kids loved it and we will be calling both companies back again next year. The students were able to enjoy a party that they planned themselves along with the food that was provided and the games that they played.

Our end of the year party was off the chain. We collaborated with the family resource center and parents of students in program to bring together a collection of jumpers and a game truck for their entertainment pleasure. The water slide jumper was the biggest attraction, however. Our kids love water so they played until it was time to shut it down. As the played the parents and staff bbq hamburgers and, hot links, and hot dogs, along with other goodies.

At the End of the Year party there were all types of games like laser tag, a game truck. Also there were water slides, three jumpers, and a boxing ring. We had great cooking from Coach Kennith with his delicious oysters, hot dogs, chicken, hamburgers, potato salad, nachos, and fruit salad. Good desserts like ice cream, cotton candy, and a large candy table. We had a good showing of parents and teachers.
