Higher Ground is a multi-service non-profit designed to provide elementary education and supportive services to Schools, Districts, and County Offices of Education throughout the East Bay.

Our goal is to create educational spaces that empower and impact the way children receive education and youth development services in the city of Oakland and the greater East Bay. Higher Ground believes in excellence through our staff! If you are an individual with a passion for education, we are looking for you!

Internship

 "You will learn how to deliver project-based lessons in the areas of science, technology, math, and service learning. All lessons use core knowledge concepts with literacy woven throughout the curriculum. You will also learn how to use performance-based assessments to guide your teaching practice."

The Strong Roots Teaching Internship Program improves the means by which individuals coming out of college look for opportunities to serve low-income communities in various ways while impacting student debt.  

 

The Strong Roots Teaching and Environmental Justice Internship equips individuals needing to perform their job well while working with underserved communities.

 

Practicums and work on special projects give interns the needed experience to be confident and effective service providers in communities that need high-quality individuals working for and with them.
